Office of the State Inspector General – Uptick in State Fraud, Waste and Abuse Hotline Calls

The Office of the State Inspector General (OSIG) is responsible for investigating waste and identifying inefficiencies in executive branch state government. By deterring fraud, waste, abuse, and corruption, they promote integrity and ethical conduct and serve as a catalyst for positive change and protection.

Michael Westfall, Acting State Inspector General, and Kathleen Shaw, Communications Director, Office of the State Inspector General join Wendy Edwards to talk about  the State Fraud, Waste and Abuse Hotline, which celebrates its 25th Anniversary in 2017.

Gov360 is bringing forward a coalition including the former Chair of the Blue Ribbon Commission on Race, Memorials and Public Spaces, Don Gathers; former Mayor, Dave Norris; Chair of the Central VA Young Republicans, Elliott Harding; and other civic leaders and activists to request cooperation from the City of Charlottesville in providing greater opportunities for civil discourse regarding recent events, rallies, and protests. They are also asking the City to publicly address various concerns specific to the developing situation on August 12th.
