Coming Home Well – Grace Tuttle – Seas The Day

While in the military, we are at our peak physical fitness levels.  Unfortunately after we leave the service, and particularly after we return from war overseas, we veterans can lose interest in outdoor activities and sports.  We speak with Grace Tuttle, former UVA rower, about the Seas the Day (cville-seastheday.weebly.com) event coming next Saturday, May 12, to the Charlottesville area.  We also talk about why a young woman who is also a civilian has such a desire to help veterans.  Tune in, and join us at Seas the Day on the 12th!

Current Sermon Series: “The Agony and The Ecstasy”

Today’s Message: As Of 1st Importance

Today’s Scripture: I Corinthians 15

A fun question to ask a group as an ice breaker is, “If you were shipwrecked alone on an island what one book would you want with you?” Along those same lines, if you could only have one chapter of the Bible with you which chapter would you choose? Well if you decided on I Corinthians 15 it would be a wise choice. In chapter 15, Paul gives us the gospel clearly and simply and emphasizes the importance of the resurrection of Christ from the dead.

In Morning News Weekends

UVA Health System is sponsoring the Traumatic Brain Injury and Stroke Awareness Health Fair, this Sunday, May 6th, from 1:00-3:00pm  at the Sprint Pavilion on the Downtown Mall.

When it comes to having a stoke, the sooner a patient is treated the better. That’s why UVA’s Traumatic Brain Injury Quality Support and Stroke team have put together the awareness education fair, so people can familiarize themselves with the risk, signs and symptoms of a stroke.
