Just this week, Governor Ralph Northam vetoed VA House Bill 2528, which would have allowed prosecutors to charge drug dealers with second degree murder if the drugs they provide directly contribute to the death of the user. Long sought by local prosecutors, the bill had been supported by Attorney General Mark Herring as a way to stem the tide of Opioid deaths in Virginia. Nathan Mitchell, Community Outreach & Advocacy Coordinator for The McShin Foundation, joins Wendy to respond to the Governor’s action.

This year’s event features live music, food, pony rides, a petting zoo, HUGE farm equipment; lots of artists and craftspeople, heritage crafters, local businesses and non-profits. New this year, a Tasting Garden! Thistle Gate, Cunningham Creek, James River Brewery and Castle Hill Cider will be there. Plus, a preview of the Farm Heritage Museum. So much cool stuff!
