The Women’s Initiative – Sister Circle

Shelly, Amanda and Jeanne discuss the benefits of the Women’s Initiative Sister Circle and the importance of a safe space for women of color to get support.

The Sister Circle program provides an array of mental health and wellness programs to reach and serve Black women and women of color.

In particular, Sister Circle aims to meet the unique needs of women of color in the following ways:

Culturally responsive mental health counseling and treatment to heal culturally based trauma

Social support groups that create safe and nurturing spaces for women to heal and build community

Neighborhood-based education and outreach and collaboration with other agencies and communities
