Power Company Reminds You How to Stay Informed During the Coming Storm

This storm could bring significant accumulations of snow and high winds which could bring down trees and power lines, causing widespread outages and making travel difficult. Earlier this week, we began planning for personnel and resources in anticipation of severe weather. Our crews, personnel and employees are gearing up to respond to this storm. Rob Richardson of Dominion Power says, make sure you’ve saved Dominion’s outage map in your favorites—the new design makes it easier to track power outages and restoration progress: www.dom.com/outage. You can bookmark any location for future reference. The new map is compatible with all mobile devices.

You’re encouraged to prepare now for possible power outages that could occur as early as Friday as the potential for heavy snow and high winds move through the area. Put together an emergency preparedness kit with needed supplies such as flashlights, water, medicines, portable radios, extra batteries and non-perishable goods.

For more information on how to assemble a kit, visit https://www.dom.com/residential/dominion-virginia-power/outage-center/outage-safety-and-preparation.
