Tom Tom Founders Festival Launches Fall Initiative “Founding Cville”
Celebrates Charlottesville Innovators with Public Art Installation & Block Party.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – July 30, 2014 – Tom Tom Founders Festival today announced the launch of Founding Cville, a project honoring local innovators and creators that culminates in a Fall McGuffey Block Party on Friday September 26.
Founding Cville celebrates “Founders” — artists, business leaders, and public servants– who make a significant contribution to Charlottesville, Albemarle, and beyond, by virtue of their vision and drive. The Festival has opened the nomination of “Founders” to the public, and is currently seeking suggestions through its website: www.founding.tomtomfest.com. Nominations close Friday, August 8th at 11:59pm.
“Founding Cville talks about the Thomas Jeffersons of today,” explains Paul Beyer, Director of Tom Tom Founders Festival. “The act of Founding is difficult and takes perseverance, and Jefferson’s revolutionary legacy has relevance for entrepreneurial and creative individuals. The founders celebrated in this project show how Charlottesville is not just about history, but about the future.”
