Why Skyline Drive Closing at Night

Shenandoah National Park spokeswoman Sally Hurlbert says Skyline Drive will be closed in the northern and southern districts from 5 in the evening until 8 the next morning. The central district will stay open until November 28th. The annual nighttime closings of Skyline Drive begin November 14th. It happens during deer season and is designed to counter illegal hunting.

Rate of pre-term births has risen

Dr. Edward McCabe, chief medical officer at the March of Dimes talks about the details of their latest survey. The percentage of pre-term births in the U-S last year was 9.63 — up from 9.57 — representing about 2,000 more premature babies who usually need some extra care.
