Psalm 127 verse 4 tells us, “Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.” We are warriors, dad! We hold in our hands the arrows of the next generation and the bow of our influence in their lives. Today I want us to consider the Biblical principles that fathers need to exercise to be men of influence. May God bless our efforts and give us wisdom.

In the military we learn a lot of acronyms, we joke and call it “Alphabet Soup”.  Well there’s one acronym that is becoming quite popular among veterans, and it’s called EMDR. EMDR is a type of therapy with a very high success rate in treating PTSD (another acronym).  We speak with Ms. Carolyn Schuyler, LCSW, from Wildrock Retreat Center (wildrock.org) and Mr. Tim Eckert, Army veteran and EMDR patient.  Learn the basics of what EMDR is and how it can help your veteran cope with the trauma of war.  Share the podcast so they know what to expect as Carolyn describes in detail a road map for EMDR therapy.
