Morning News Weekends: Jim Wilson

The Albemarle Amateur Radio Club (AARC) will be having its annual Field Day event June 28-29 at the Earlysville Volunteer Fire Station 283 Reas Ford Road, Earlysville from 2PM Saturday to 2PM Sunday. The public is invited to see practical demonstrations of emergency communication off the regular commercial grid. Hams practice this training so they can be ready in the event of any natural disaster by providing emergency communication for help when all other forms of communication are not working. We also will have a Get On the Air radio station available where visitors can try their hand at ham radio and talk to the world under the supervision of a licensed ham radio operator.

The public is cordially invited.
