Kelly Kroese – Scottsville V-Day

On February 24th, Scottsville community members, in partnership with the Scottsville Center for Arts and Nature, will be participating in the 20th anniversary of the V-Day Movement with a one-night benefit performance of The Vagina Monologues. Each year tens of thousands of communities around the world participate in the V-Day event to raise funding for agencies that work with survivors of violence and their families.

Proceeds from this year’s performance will go to benefit Southern Albemarle Family Practice. This rural general medicine facility is facing a 70% cut in federal funding at the end of this fiscal year. Community health care centers like Southern Albemarle Family Practice are on the front lines of all major public health epidemics including violence against women and girls.

V-Day Scottsville takes place on Saturday, February 24th, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Victory Hall, 401 Valley St in Scottsville.

Kelly Kroese joins Wendy Edwards to preview the event.
