Working people, especially single moms, often slip through the cracks when it comes to public assistance. What does it say about America’s generous reputation when hardworking tax payers simply do not qualify for aid when times get tough. What message do we send to full-time, working parents when the answer to a plea for help is “You make too much money for assistance from the county/state” and “Have you thought of ways to help yourself?”
