UVA Center for Politics, in partnership with the U.S. Department of State and World Learning, is hosting the Leaders for Democracy Fellowship, which aims to improve civil society in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. There are 25 fellows in the program, including government officials, journalists, non-profit managers, civic planners, civic activists, and teachers. Representing NewsRadio WINA, Les Sinclair says, “I had the honor of being on the media panel discussion with Charlottesville Newsplex and The Daily Progress.” Then, the Governor of Virginia stopped by Thursday to meet with them.
