Game Day Traffic Issues

Capt Melissa Fielding of the UVA Police Dept speaks with Les Sinclair about game day traffic issues for Friday 9/25/15

In preparation for the home football game against Boise State at Scott Stadium at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, the University of Virginia Police Department reminds drivers to avoid the area, if possible. Police are expecting heavy congestion on Emmet Street/US 29, Ivy Road, University Avenue and the area of Jefferson Park Avenue/Fontaine Avenue. Local drivers are urged to use alternative routes where possible.

Several parking lots in the vicinity of Scott Stadium must be vacated by 4:30 p.m.

Guidance for permit holders and transit riders can be found at http://www.virginia.edu/parking/events/special.html. Permit holders and transit riders can review this site to determine if their lots are affected and what parking options are available.
