Disparities Along Race, Income, Education Lines Leading to 25% of Infants Not Getting Vaccinated.

UVA researcher Rajesh Balkrishnan, PhD, of UVA’s Department of Public Health Sciences, talks with Les Sinclair about the need for children to be vaccinated, and the reasons behind many not getting them. The researchers say the lower rate among low-income families is especially disheartening considering the availability of federal programs such as Vaccine for Children, which provides free vaccines for uninsured, underinsured and Medicaid-eligible children.
