The effort for Charlottesville to increase the ratio of government supported affordable housing recently got a boost when the City Council approved an allocation of about $1.31 million for a slew of housing-related projects.

Money from the Charlottesville Affordable Housing Fund will go toward repair and rehabilitation of old properties and offer financial assistance to help build new homes in neighborhoods of various socio-economic levels throughout the city.
