COVID-19 Vaccine Allergic Reaction Clinical Trial at UVA

Dr. Michael Nelson, the chief of the Asthma, Allergy and Immunology Division at UVA Health and the UVA School of Medicine, is leading the trial at UVA and he gives Les Sinclair the details.
UVA Health is participating in a nationwide clinical trial to determine if allergic reactions to the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines occur more often in people with severe allergies or a mast cell disorder (a genetic immune disorder) compared with people who have little or no allergies. The trial is looking for volunteers ages 12-69 who have not yet been vaccinated to receive either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.
