New Alert System Helping Find Missing Seniors with Alzheimer’s

Jeanne McCusker, of Home Instead Senior Care, talks with Les Sinclair about this new tool to help keep seniors living with dementia safe, Home Instead Senior Care has launched a free tool, the Missing Senior Network (MissingSeniorNetwork.com), now available in the Charlottesville and Central Virginia area.The alert system is part of Prevent Wandering – a free community education program with tips and resources for families to gain insight into what triggers these events and steps they can take to keep loved ones safe, developed in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association.

Cell Tower Coming to AHS

The Albemarle Supervisors voted Wednesday night to allow a cell phone tower at Albemarle High School. John Cruickshank, a retired former school principal and current head of local Sierra Club, thinks it’s a bad idea. Supervisor, Diantha McKeel, says it will improve phone coverage at AHS.
