Dr. Lauren Powell, VDH Director of the Office of Health Equity talks with Les Sinclair about Minority Mental Health Month, and the invitation to attend a panel discussion called Black Mental Health: Racism, Stigma, and the Impact on Health this Wednesday, July 24, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Auditorium at the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center.

This event is co-sponsored by the Virginia Department of Health’s Office of Health Equity and Thomas Jefferson Health District, Brave Souls on Fire, the Central Virginia Clinicians of Color Group, the Community Mental Health and Wellness Coalition, and the Women’s Initiative. This event is also a part of Unity Days, a series of Charlottesville city-sponsored and community-driven events and programs that educate, inspire, and honor people in our community to move towards economic and racial justice.
