UVA LB Kiser picks up National and Conference Honors

(CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA-WINA)  After another stellar performance on Saturday against UCONN, UVA Sr. Linebacker Micah Kiser has been recognized as the National Defensive player of the week, as well as the conference defensive player of the week.  Kiser over the last two games has 29 tackles and 4 sacks.  Listen to Kiser after the UCONN win below:

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced Micah Kiser as its National Defensive Player of the Week, presented by Generation UCAN, for games ending September 16.

Kiser (Baltimore, Md.) recorded a game-high 15 tackles (seven solo), had two quarterback sacks and recovered one fumble at Virginia’s own goal line to help the Cavaliers defeat UConn, 38-18. The two sacks moved Kiser to No. 10 all-time at UVA with 19 career sacks. Kiser has 29 tackles, four sacks and one fumble recovery over UVA’s last two games.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia inside linebacker Micah Kiser has been named the ACC Linebacker of the Week for games played through Sept. 16. It is the first weekly accolade for Kiser this season and third of his career. He was last named ACC Linebacker of the Week on Oct. 31, 216. He first was named ACC Linebacker of the Week on Nov. 23, 2015.
