Here’s ESPN.com’s list of the top 20 transfer prospects….
The transfer list was in excess of 700 players a year ago. As it continues to grow, we will update it with the players in demand.
Below are the 20 best transfers who are as yet uncommitted, followed by the complete list. We’ll continue to update the main list as players commit, and will revise our top 20 uncommitted list each Friday.
1. Sterling Gibbs, Seton Hall (eligible immediately) — Gibbs and Nigel Williams-Goss are essentially Nos. 1 and 1A, but Gibbs gets top billing due to the fact he will graduate and be eligible to play right away. The scoring guard was second-team all-Big East this past season, averaging 16.3 points and 3.8 assists a game.
2. Nigel Williams-Goss, Washington — He averaged 15.6 points and 5.9 assists as a sophomore this past season and is a pure point guard who makes people better. Williams-Goss will sit out and have two seasons left.
Committed to Gonzaga
3. Rasheed Sulaimon, Duke — It didn’t work out the way everyone thought it would for the talented wing out of Texas. Sulaimon spent much of his time in Durham on coach Mike Krzyzewski’s bad side and ultimately was dismissed from the program in January. A junior, Sulaimon will try to graduate this summer so he can play his final season next school year as a graduate student for another program. (A player who has graduated with eligibility left can play right away as a graduate student at a new school, without sitting a year as a typical transfer does).
4. Johnathan Williams III, Missouri — The Memphis native led the Tigers in scoring and rebounding this past season. There are restrictions on his release: He can’t go to an SEC or Big 12 school and can’t transfer to Illinois or Arizona. (Geographical and conference-related restrictions are common when giving a player his release; Missouri has not explained the specific restriction against Arizona, however).
Considering: Gonzaga, Michigan State, Oregon, Georgetown, SMU
5. Terry Larrier, VCU — The former top-50 recruit is leaving the Rams after just one season. Larrier had an up-and-down freshman year, but his ceiling is very high due to his size, length and ability to knock down shots from the perimeter. He averaged 6.6 points and has three seasons of eligibility.
6. Shaqquan Aaron, Louisville — The Seattle native missed the first 10 games due to an NCAA issue and played sparingly once he became eligible. However, the freshman was a highly regarded player coming out of high school and should have plenty of suitors.
Considering: USC, Oregon, Washington
7. Tyler Harris, Providence (eligible immediately) — He had his issues at Providence, but Tobias’ younger brother averaged 11.6 points as a sophomore, and 9.9 points and 4 rebounds this past season. He’s eligible immediately for his final college season.
Considering: Connecticut, Arizona, Auburn, Boston College, UMass, Auburn, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, La Salle
8. Anton Grady, Cleveland State (eligible immediately) — Grady had a very productive three seasons with the Vikings, averaging 14.3 points and 7.9 rebounds this past season, finishing with three straight games of at least 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Considering: Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Xavier, Pittsburgh, Wichita State, Dayton, NC State, Nebraska
9. Josh Cunningham, Bradley — He was a top-100 recruit, and he can rebound and defend. The 6-7 Illinois native averaged 7.9 points and 7.5 rebounds as a freshman in 2014-15.
Considering: Arizona, DePaul, Michigan State, Notre Dame, St. John’s, Minnesota, Purdue, South Carolina, UIC, Dayton, Colorado State
10. Dylan Ennis, Villanova (eligible immediately) — He started off last season extremely well but then slowed down. Tyler Ennis’ brother wound up averaging 9.9 points last season.
Considering: Illinois, Baylor, Oregon
11. Kyle Washington, NC State — Washington showed flashes of talent during his two seasons with the Wolfpack, but the emergence of other young big men limited his playing time. He will begin to take a closer look at schools after the semester. About 20 schools have reached out to him so far.
12. Derrick Gordon, UMass (eligible immediately) — He was the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year at Western Kentucky and spent the past two seasons at UMass, where he averaged 9.4 points and 9.8 points. He’s a 2-guard who can get to the basket and finish. He’s eligible to play next season.
Considering: Oregon State, Utah State, UNLV
13. Stanford Robinson, Indiana — The 6-4 sophomore wing can get to the basket and guard; he averaged 3 points per game and will go elsewhere in search of more playing time. Likely to sit out next season.
Considering: Rhode Island, Richmond, UAB, VCU
14. Deandre Burnett, Miami (Fla.) — The Florida native missed his freshman season due to injury and averaged 7 points this past season. He’s a scoring guard.
Considering: USC, Ole Miss, Marquette, South Florida, La Salle
15. Anton Gill, Louisville — The sophomore didn’t play much for the Cardinals but was a fairly sought-after recruit coming out of high school.
Considering: Georgetown, Nebraska, East Carolina, Providence
16. Ike Nwamu, Mercer (eligible immediately) — After an all-league season with the Bears, Nwamu will graduate and play elsewhere. He’s a terrific athlete who can also knock down shots from the perimeter. Nwamu averaged 15.1 points and shot 37.2 percent from 3.
Committed to UNLV
17. Andrew Rowsey, UNC Asheville — The second-team all-Big South player averaged 19.2 points as a sophomore, shooting 38.2 percent from 3 and 92.1 percent from the free throw line. Two years remaining.
Considering: NC State, Cincinnati, Marquette
18. Eli Carter, Florida (eligible immediately) — Carter spent two seasons with the Gators after transferring from Rutgers following his sophomore season. He averaged 8.8 points in 2014-15, but has dealt with multiple injuries the past few years, including a broken leg and a sprained foot.
Considering: St. John’s, Clemson, NC State, Boston College, Seton Hall, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Nevada, Rutgers, Long Beach State, Creighton, Iona, DePaul
19. Tomasz Gielo, Liberty (eligible immediately) — The native of Poland played only seven games last season before suffering a stress fracture in his right foot. Gielo is 6-9 and knocked down better than 40 percent of his 3-pointers the past two seasons.
Considering: Ole Miss, Kansas State, Boise State, Nevada, Marquette, BYU, Vanderbilt, Nebraska
20. Marcquise Reed, Robert Morris — After a regular season in which Reed averaged 15.1 points, he boosted his reputation even more with 22 points against Duke in the NCAA tournament. The 6-3 guard has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
